Well, I was finally able to get it to work by making a bunch of changes to the Makefile. Then I also had to copy the binary stuff by hand ( mv ./blib/arch/auto/DateTime /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread- multi/auto/.). Here are the changes I had to make in case anyone is
