problems with I2C and MSP430 IR remote

design has the I2C IO expander eliminated and we are using DM6441 processor. The curroption can be avoided if I am able to reset the I2C bus from SoC before writing the volume command to mixer device. Any ideas? Thanks and regards, Avik Ghose
