Hi,

re fs's suggestion "the connection should be disposed when it is not used
anymore, and that the driver should discard the file at this point.".......could
this be implemented such that a new mail merge activity was itself the trigger
for disposing of the connection (after which it would, of course, be refreshed)?
Then you would be guaranteed the most up to date database every time you did the
merge. I guess it might take a second or two longer, but for most people that
would be a trivial inconvenience compared to finding after the fact that you
used old data.
