I am trying to install DBD-Oracle8 using ppm. I get an error message as follows:

You *should* be able to do that, but I've always ended up recompiling on
each using gcc. gcc is free. Activestate's solaris version should provide
the same binary downloads, no compiler required for solaris, too.
