I did as you say: my failed attempt was with Oracle client runtime libraries only. I went back and installed OCI and Oracle Programmer (aka Pro*C) and the installation went great. I did not even have to uninstall the client libs, Universal Installer just added the two missing components. - Or

Hi Gary, Where does it say you have to install the RDBMS, I can only find this and its not too specific: "Install enough Oracle software to enable DBD::Oracle to build. That usually includes Pro*C and SQL*Net. That's not very specific because it varies so much between Oracle releases.
