Are you using gcc? If so use the native HP-UX compiler. This is a known issue/

Hello, I have a problem compiling DBI on HPUX 11.23 Ittanium platform. There's
clearly something not fully compatible in configure+compiler combination.
Enclosed is info according to README.
Additionally I intend to use Oracle driver (DBD::Oracle) and foresee more
problems there!
