Subject: Request for assistance

Hi,

I am trying to hunt down an answer for the following error:

I suspect that it is a missing file that needs to be copied from the
$ORACLE_HOME directory of the Server, but I'm not savvy with Perl or
Oracle..

Here is the error:

Anway to resolve this error? Trying to run a simple Oracle::DBD
script and I seem to be missing the shared library libwtc8.so.
This library is not on the install CD either. This is just a
linux Oracle client running version 8.1.5 and on RedHat Linux 7.1.
I can see this library on the Solaris installs, but not on the
Linux.

bash-2.04$ ./testdb.pl
install_driver(Oracle) failed: Can't load
'/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.0/i386-linux/auto/DBD/Oracle/Oracle.so'
for module DBD::Oracle: libwtc8.so: cannot load shared object file: No
such file or directory at /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.0/i386-linux/DynaLoader.pm
line 200.
 at (eval 1) line 3
Compilation failed in require at (eval 1) line 3.
Perhaps a required shared library or dll isn't installed where expected
 at ./testdb.pl line 9

Thanks

Any help is appreciated,
Jason
