It is somthing in you connection string or you do not have the
TNS_ADMIN env car set
TNS_ADMIN should point to your TNSNAMES.ORA file

Thanks for the info John. Agreed that it is probably an issue with the
connect string. More details on the environment
The oracle RAC environment is 64bit 11gR2
