Good point. The default if you don't specify the size in my.cnf is 8M, but the example my.cnf files clearly specify 50-80% of the computer memory. CentOS/RHEL don't have a size in my.cnf, so the mysql default is used, which appears to be 8M. I'll bump that up and see how it goes. You would
