I seem to recall that it was right around the time of Working Man's, the
fall of '69 perhaps.

Since the band called it quits when it got too dark to play any longer
(there were no lights), I'm not sure we can assume the end of the show
was "filmable" eventhough the filmcrew audio source does include through
Casey Jones. I can't seem to find my copy of video and I can't remember
where t
I sent Scott what I had of a partial copy of an
alternate SBD source (2nd set but for drums edited, and Minglewood,
Scarlet>Fire from the 1st set) and a copy of Rob Bertrando's AUD tape as a
reference. Scott's initial assessment of the alternate NFA was that it was
complete (see his note).
Scott Clugston requested a copy of Rob's AUD
for comparison, which I sent ca him ca. 10 days ago.
Paul
I don't know what new version Rob has passed on to
Paul but it is not mine. Once Scott Clugston (see "Re: 3.18.77 revisited")
gets done with his wizardry we'll get this into circulation.
Paul
I didn't realize Fire was an issue as well. I
just listened to my version and there is no flip, i.e. Scarlet>Fire is
complete. I'll burn it and send it to Scott. I wish I had to rest of
the show as well but the only other bit that came on this tape is Minglewood
(?!). Go figure.

Mystery Train was also Elvis' break out song- long
before he got into capes and goofy jumpsuits- and when he had something to
say. It was the first 45 I bought (and still have) and must exist on some
compilation somewhere.

The stage monitors are idiosyncratic depending on
what and how much individual musicians wanted to hear their monitor, the
amibient sound, themselves, whatever. Stage Jerry may sound quite
different than stage Phil and not as simple as left or right. I'm not
doubting that an excellent, eve
I can't imagine mics on stage being the source of a
"spectacular AUD". The sound on stage is anything but.

I'm all for it Rob (i.e. providing a SBD
patch). A skilled tweaker has agreed to take on the task. I'm not
about to put him on a timetable but an upgrade of the critical point of a most
worthy show has now entered the pipeline.
Paul
For what it's worth, my 1st gen SBD has no gap and
no patch in NFA. The patch is in St. Stephen. It would seem
safe to conclude that there are at least two SBD sources in
circulation.

The idea was great, play up in ski country in the
Sierras. The reality was not. The place quickly turned into a dust
bowl and with a steady wind blowing from left to right throughout the show,
everyone was caked with dust by show's end. Added to this was the fact
that the show was a comp
Are we talking Oct and Nov. '84 BCT's?
Paul
David you are too kind. Donovan's There Is a Mountain was
inescapable on the airwaves both AM and FM when it was released.
Fortunately it was a catchy tune.

For the record: Devil With a Blue Dress is not on Brent's
album.

>These would be Doug Irwin's tapes I think, so they are probably not
>anything that doesn't circulate in better qual on cdr.I believe this is a bad assumption. Even if the auction were limited to Irwin's stuff, there is no telling what he's got on tape or who passed it on to him. If there ar
Thanks David. You are absolutely correct.
Not everyone is a completist and that goes even for those with the best
tape connections. Often times highlights circulated because that's what
people wanted to hear. This is not necessarily malice, just different
interests.Paul
Point taken, however, the operative phrase here is "known to exist
on tape". There are some who attended not only the 7/3/70 scheduled
Calgary show but the free concert afterwards who claim to have heard a version
at the free concert. Maybe we will learn for sure if these Trans

There are a handful of Janis/Dead Lovelights.
A song/setlist of what you have would be helpful but I suspect you have
some of the Euphoria Ballroom, 7/16/70. A quality fragment of this show
started circulating a few months back.Paul
