Title: Re: 9/30/72 WMAL is an AM station, not

Agreed that's it's possible. But I find it odd that some radio
station broadcast a show and apparently NO ONE taped it. For 25+ years

girl-who-knew-Latvala-or-whatever cassette surfaced.

It is possible for the recording to be pre-broadcast and still
have the station ID. If the DJ was there at the gig, the
announce microphone mould have been mixed in there before the signal
was sent down phone lines to the station.

probably bleed-through from what was recorded on the tape prior. I seem
to recall being told that 2nd gen tape was made on some crappy
equipment, likely with a cheap (i.e. used) tape. Or maybe it was just a
dream. It's been a

Having been personally responsible for doing the cassette-to-DAT
transfers of both the one- and two-cassette generation lineages that
circulate for this show, I can assure you that what we have is from
soundboard reel masters, NOT any broadcast.
Where on the tape is a WMAL station announcement?
Is there any bass on that tape? Big dofference between an AM boradcast
and FM.
