Compiled ok for me on 10.13.4 with macports "openmpi-gcc6 +fortran"
compilers, and the following options:
-DDEAL_II_WITH_UMFPACK=ON \
-DDEAL_II_WITH_THREADS=ON \
-DDEAL_II_WITH_MPI=ON
