Actually Sarajevo Banja Luka is about 4 with 20-30 minutes stop. There
are about five lines per dey going from Sarajevo to Banja Luka. Yes
Zagrab is much closer but again it would be about 2-3 Hours.

Last year i got ticket Sarajevo-Istanbul-NYC and back for about 900$
Connections between Sarajevo or Zagreb to Banja Luka is not that complicated
and hopefully we will write guidelines how to come from Sarajevo/Zagreb to
Banja Luka.
