Re: [Debconf-team] DebConf11 earmark at FFIS
Hi Joey the other people at ffis! On Mittwoch, 13. April 2011, Richard Darst wrote: We are starting the DebConf11 process, and I was wondering if we could get a DebConf11 earmark created at FFIS? Also, could I get access to view the DebConf11 earmark? Holger can reply to this vouching for both creation and my view access... Yup, he's right. Also we would like to have lea...@debian.org to have access (plus the Debian auditor, if there is one. AIUI currently there is none.) If possible, we would like to have a DebConfX earmark created each year, where the usual DebConf people plus the DPL/auditor have access. The creation should be done 2-6 months in advance, when we needed. Each year, this earmark should also be deleted (on request by us, approx. 2 months after the conf ended) and the money moved to the regular Debian account. (So in effect, it's Debians money for a specific purpose (running DebConfX) and should be merged with the regular Debian account/earmark each year.) I hope it's both clear and possible what we want, if not, we're happy to either clarify and/or adopt plans :) (Hopefully soon, I'll let you know what to do with the remaining DebConf10 earmark.) Please merge it with the Debian earmark/account now. If we have any other expenses to do, we will have to ask the DPL to authorize these spendings. Closing the earmark now will allow us to finally finish DC10 :) I also would like to thank you for your tireless work with helping DebConf over the past years. You and FFIS have been key to DebConf's success. Absolutly. Thank you a million! cheers, Holger signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part. ___ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team

There are several conference-specific modifications to Pentabarf that have to be done for each individual conference. Even though upstream's Pentabarf supports a multi-conference setting, for practical purposes, ours doesn't anymore - i.e. the validation for dates or for attendance types includes hardwired information for the current conference (so would be basically impossible for you to register properly for DC9 now, even if we were to set it to receive new registrations. Pentabarf is flexible enough to accomodate for our workflows, but the existing instance, with the modifications done it's basically rigidized to the only current conference. ___ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team

Re: [Debconf-team] Arrival one day earlier?
Actually, I'm not sure if I was understood properly, but I'm of opinion that people should be able to come/leave one day earlier/later. We need to be flexible, and us not allowing them to do this doesn't make us flexible at all. Matter for discussion could be more whether how we would do this, manually or via penta. After registrations if we see people massively registered to arrive earlier/leave later and that we have a financial problem then we could revoke this decision.
