Where is it known?
I don't see where modemmanager is used in the installer, could you
provide the steps you use to reproduce the issue?

in the current [wheezy] installer, the modemmanager (in the network
configuration screen) kills the connection to a serial braille display
controlled by BRLTTY. I know that the problem is known, but there is not yet a
fix, except for restarting BRLTTY, not really suitable for new users

looks like at-spi2-core built just fine against the older atk1.0 version
in unstable. So it's only the amd64 package which was built in a tainted
