People, The udev problem with the missing accept4 syscall on Alpha is now fixed. Before allowing udev to upgrade you must first upgrade your kernel to the latest available and boot into the new kernel, so I suggest the following:
apt-get install linux-image-3.2.0-1-alpha-generic (Obviously replace generic with the variant of the kernel that you prefer to use.) Edit /boot/etc/aboot.conf then reboot into the new kernel. Then you can run apt-get dist-upgrade. Make sure you get at least version 2.13-24+b1 of libc6.1. (Version 2.13-24 of libc6.1 won't work.)
