The Debian kernels have supported the prctl interfaces on alpha since
version 2.6.18-3
that can support it. So please do enable
prctl build on alpha.

I have another package self-compiled from source by downloading the

package and building it: unrar - I use it since ever on alphy for
unpacking
downloaded rar files, no corrupt extracts, no crashes. Why is this

not available on alpha, too?

the recent debian kernels support prctl (for configuring unaligned
accesses). It would be wonderful to have the corresponding package build for
alpha, too. According to the changelog
(http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/p/prctl/prctl_1.5-1/changel
