Hi all,
I've been running the Asus K8V-X motherboard on Debian AMD64 since the
beginning of this year, with no problems whatsoever. SATA support comes
out of the box with sata_via, and the onboard 1Gbit ethernet chip is
supported by the sk98lin driver (at least in 100Mbit mode). I'm NOT

Thomas,
I've simply forced ia32-libs_1.2_amd64.deb installation with
dpkg -i --force-all /var/cache/apt/archives/ia32-libs_1.2_amd64.deb
Everything (including OpenOffice) works fine so far.

IIRC, the problem with GRUB's XFS support is that it doesn't handle
fragmented files properly. If the kernel image has an

I ran some benchmarks not too long ago. I don't know what conclusions to
draw, but here you go. [1] FWIW, I share an XFS partition between amd64 and
i386 and I hadn't noticed any issues. On the other hand, I've been running

I think running a 64bit system is all very nice (and fast), except for
software availability. Sure, most software has a working 64bit version
(unlike on Windows...), but a few pieces essential for the typical
user are missing: most browser plugins, openoffice, wine etc.
openoffice wont be far off,

I have a question concerning KPhone. Can you use KPhone without problems?
When I start KPhone (now called KPhone1) (e.g. from terminal) it is not
connecting to Sipgate my SIP-Provider and does not ask for my Password.
When I close KPhone1, I have to wait until I can type in new comma
