I have compiled a list of packages in non-free that can be included in
Amd64's non-free. A few days ago I have posted the entire list of good
and bad packages on debian-devel[1]. They can also be found at,

Hi,
I'm putting a dual opteron box together and I will be installing
postgresql 8 on it. Has anyone here compiled this, and is there anything
in particular I should look out for?
Thanks in advance,
Koen.

Yes the user's home directory does exist. It's a complete debian ia32

Does someone know reasons for that ?

Have you been following the server move? Maybe your running on old

FWIW, cdrdao is necessary for creating VCDs and SVCDs from vcdimager and for
backing up audio CDs in their entirety, as opposed to track-by-track - so
it's quite useful. It's also DFSG free.
Anyway, cdrdao has another FTBFS bug
Please could someone tell me where can I find distribution compiled by

Hi,
I went to check for updates using Synaptic just now and found that I have two
broken packages (libc6-dev and locales). According to synaptic, the solution
for this seems to be to upgrade libc6. However, when I do apt-get upgrade
libc6 I get a complaint containing the following:

The model is a Chaintech SK8T800 socket 754 Micro-ATX. It's for a
server, so VESA video is good enough.
Otherwise, are there other Micro-ATX mainboards known to work?
