I run a mixed Ubuntu / Debian system. openoffice.org-bin did work from
Ubuntu. Later I added amd64-archive and the version in amd64-archive is
newer (1.1.2 vs. 1.1.3), so it got updated. I haven't started it yet
since then, so I don't know if it still

I tried the line:
deb http://public.planetmirror.com/pub/debian-amd64/debian/ unstable main
contrib
When I update, it appears to fetch the release file but skip the
packages file. If I can change unstable to sid, it works.
(But since unstable == sid, this isn't very intuitive.)

the link a dialog window pops up and I choose "open with totem media player"
but totem says "there is no plugin to play this movie". I have also tried

I've got a Dell Precision 380 which uses a Pentium Extreme Edition
(Smithfield). This is the dual-core, hyperthreaded version of the
Pentium D.
I'm trying to determine the best Debian version and kernel to use.
Should I be using the the AMD64 or the Pure64 port or something else?

You can configure ifrename via /etc/iftab (`man iftab` for more info)

and cycle do not display text in dialogs (like `open file' dialog and
error messages), and sometimes, does not accept input (open the
