I want to summarize an off list discussion between Georg Rehm, Len

Hello folks,
I have a slight Problem with my new notebook (got it as guarantee exchange)
with an ATI graphics card and Turion processor.
Description:
The driver I choose was version 8.22.5 (from ATI). I built the packages

I would have thought with 2.6.15 it had a chance. 2.6.8 certainly won't

I think that it should work, i've a similar chipset (if not the same), and

but the Intel 1000 NIC [Ethernet controller: Intel Corp.: Unknown device

Hi,
When I open my Gnome Help files I get these strange chars: squares with
numbers like 20 (on the first line) and 02, 03,15 etc (on the second
line) in them. I assume that these are Unicode chars, not being
displayed properly.
How do I get those characters diplayed properly?
TIA
