This message is just to report that 'curl' program seems to have the 2GB
limitation.
I indeed have 3GB files on my system with no problem, such as the
solaris10 install dvd file.
I will give a try to jigdo now. Hopefully it will solve my problem.

My filesystem supports files bigger than 2GB indeed. I have recompiled
the kernel 2.4.32 though.
Now, I have given a try to curl command and it works fine:
curl -C - -L -O

Try installing and using jigdo/jigdo-lite. I've had pretty good luck
with it.
It downloads smaller chunks and assemb
wget shows the correct size for me on Slackware/Slamd64. Maybe this
