I was trying to install new packages for my Jessie 8, using Synaptic, but
was told that they could not be installed because of broken packages. It
said to look under 'settings' and check my repositories. How do I fix this?
What should be in my repositories list (in the UK)?

Have tried using 'Fix Broken Packages', from the Synaptic menu, and
'Broken' from the 'Custom Filters' button, to no avail...
