During the dialog part, at the stage where we are about to be given the
opportunity to select drivers (i.e., modules), there is an alternate
choice, something along the lines of "configure PCMCIA modules". Selecting
this option seens to halt the

Have you ever gotten a 2.2.15 kernel (outside of boot-floppies) to work with
your hardware?

I downloaded the latest (2.2.15) boot-floppies (boot, root,
dev1-3) and
started a fresh installation. During the modconf step I noticed
some
glitches:
- Some modules dependancies are not resolved automatically.
Noticeably lp is not loaded if I don't load parport_pc
manually.
- A lot of modules
I found a solution to my problem loading keymaps (though
not until after I compiled my own version of the
boot-floppies ;) ). The boot-floppies worked fine if
I used the dd command:
dd if=resc1440.bin of=/dev/fd0 bs=1k
but not if I did:
dd if=resc1440.bin of=/dev/fd0
(which defaul
