Hi all.
I've read that it is a good idea for the 'root' partition to be small
and bootable, i.e., for it to only include /bin, /dev, /etc, /lib,
/mnt, /root and /sbin. Presumably, as these directories contain
predominantly static files, there is very little chance of a 'root'
partition organ
As far as I know language-chooser comes before main-menu these days.
Should this bug be closed?

I just tried the netinst on two machines. With a direct ethernet
connection to the internet, the first went no problems. The second
machine has an ethernet card for a home network, and I wanted to install
over the modem - that was a pain. It wanted to use eth0 for installation,

I just downloaded sarge netinst 23/02/04 and booted my Nforce2 system.
The installer did not find my onboard Broadcom chipset and more strangely
/lib/modules/2.4.24-1-386/kernel/drivers doesn't appear to have modules
for *any* network cards!
Has something gone wrong with the nightly builds?

console as primary interface? If not then it's no good on these platforms,

This appears to have been fixed in the daily build I just downloaded
today, Monday Feb 23 2004.
A different error keeps the install from progressing but is probably
unrelated. I think this bug can be closed.
