Thank you, but the second paragraph of the description says:
If a device driver requests firmware that is not available, debian-installer
will display a dialog offering to load the missing firmware. ...
This did not happen. The installer doesn't complain about anything.

Severity: wishlist
When a device needs a non-free package, there is a message saying something
like "some devices may need additonnal modules,so put them in now". We can
think that this is a generic pop-up and skip it. It should specify the device
name and missing module
I have Debian (LXDE) working on EEE PC 701.
Upgraded from Lenny to Squeeze. There were some problems i remember.
Most probably, it is because Debian removed non-free firmware files.
Did you try full install ISO image?

The proposed patch is reported to not be working, so I remove the
patch flag until someone report back with a tested and working patch.
