Tried Grub2, felt confused by its overly usage of modules and wiped it! Tried Grub-legacy which worked nice as expected but was attracted by oldschool pure Lilo which works perfectly on /dev/sda with 750 GB. I selected OFF all the tasks (desktop and standard) and did my own selection of GNOME desktop with GDM, iceceasel, liferea and OpenOffice.Org. Machine is used as a Desktop including doing statistical/mathematical programming mostly in "R". Connection to a debian NFS4-storage(Backup) and to a Linux-based package filter/Firewall. Setup of X11 was bit hassle, the Philips 190B monitor was not detected properly, so i inserted in the xorg.conf line for full resolution of 1280x1024. Hotplugging USB works fine, Sound (alsa) works fine. All works well, even the NVidia graphics adapter with Nvidia legacy kmod. Debian is GREAT. Thanks a lot to all the debian developers, maintainers and supporters. Hope you all enjoyed Christmas and wishing a happy new year with Squeeze!
