I have confirmed this behaviour on both standard Lenny ISOs and Squeeze
daily build ISOs. Steps to reproduce:
1. Download a Lenny or Squeeze ISO (businesscard is fastest, but same occurs
with netinst or full CD images)
2. In Win32, mount the ISO in a vi
Is it possible to arrange this so that if any requirement for the graphical
installer is unmet (I'm thinking primarily of RAM), the installer quietly
falls back to text mode without inconvenience to the user?

Hi folks,
I'm looking for a workaround for a kernel hang with this message:
"Marking TSC unstable due to: TSC halts in idle."
I've googled for this error and it appears to be non-fatal for other
people (a delay but not a hang). For me it hangs altogether. Is there a
kernel parameter I can use

I've used recent (late Dec/early Jan) daily builds of Lenny installer

using "install dmraid=true". The installation works, including

I would love to get this working - it seems very close now.

Greetings. I'm continuing where I left off with bugs #286939, #291928 and
#292221. They were all concerned with installing on an ATARAID system using
the 2.4 ataraid/medley driver pair. If that method is now considered

nothing. I have created sources.list.udeb.local, but tha

Hi folks,
I have one of these systems (the Silicon Image 'medley' variant). I
installed Sarge manually back in Jan 05 - before dmraid made it into Debian
- using 2.4.27's medley.o (dbugs 286939, 291928, 292221, 292968).
Now I'm reinstalling and I see I've missed this activity by many months. I

I am the person who had trouble with the 2.4.27 kernel in bugs 258500 (now

the same machine after a big repartioning exercise.
The latest installer boots 2.6

Sorry folks, schoolboy error. Sure there was 8M of main memory free, but

I think I found two unrelated bugs in the Sarge installer beta1. I have
