Okay, make sure brain is in gear before engaging fingers.   I've figure this thing out.   When you have successfully installed packages that form a Task, that task will always show up as selected [*] on the tasksel main menu. If you de-select it, tasksel assumes you want to remove the packages

Package: Tasksel Version: 2.78   sub...@bugs.debian.org I'm running Debian Lenny 2.6.26. I have a wierd problem with tasksel.   It seems that I can successfully install a package, and then when I return to tasksel browser, it automatically selects the recently installed package for removal.
