as far as I know the default behaviour of d-i when the user answers

Hi,
how do I set yaird as default initramfs generator? I've looked to
base-installer.postinst and tried to preseed:

and to add yaird plus its dependences to .disk/base-include.
The yaird package is properly installed and the debconf value

Hi,
inorder to workaround bug #254996 I've prepared a custom
base-installer with a slightly modified postinst script.
The custom version of package resides in the "local" component of the
repository on the CD-ROM, that means it's Package entry is in:

Hi,
it would be nice to be able to preseed the netcfg-dhcp behaviour in
case of failure (no dhcp server found).
Currently it seems that netcfg-dhcp prompts the user asking whether he
wants to go on without dhcp. Is it possible to silently ignore the

currently xdebconfigurator base-config menu item has number 76, while

Running it running it *after* would make it trigger itself basing on
the user choice (with or without X).

We can use the code from debian-br-cdd and skolelinux, and trigger it

Hi,
this patch should let kernel packages like:
kernel-image-someversion-myflavour-somemachine
to be correctly selected.
E.g. this should let the installer choose the right demudi kernel
among:
kernel-image-2.4.25-1-multimedia-386
kernel-image-2.4.25-1-multimedia-586tsc
kernel-image-2.4.
Hi all,
AFAIR the laptop task has been removed from the tasksel list, with the
idea is to automate it's installation with a test in /usr/lib/tasksel/tests.
What's the status of such script? Is somebody working on it?

It seems that the postinst code currently chooses the right

It would be useful to add a special suffix to the executable
files in /usr/lib/base-config/menu which will be considered
as menu entries.
For example we could have:
mta.cfg mta.mnu mta.tst
and then change the code in prep-menu accordingly:
Hi,
which is the cleaner way to change the title of the grub menu entry
generated by the first stage installation, just before the rebboot?
For example I'd like to turn "Debian GNU/Linux" in "aGNUla/DeMuDi"..
