Hi,
I couldn't find out why there is no choice to boot and install Debian from an
USB memory stick on the IA-64 architecture. Is it impossible? Are there plans
to create a boot.img.gz for IA-64?

Hello,
I don't know if this was discussed before but have you seen Mandrakes
GPL-tools?
http://www.linux-mandrake.com/diskdrake/
http://www.linux-mandrake.com/harddrake/
http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/drakx.php3
IMHO Mandrake Linux is most easy to install for newbies.

Max M
