Additional info:
I've tried using an Adaptec AHA2940UW instead of the ISP one, but then I
bumped into another bug (see bug id 271606)
I also noticed that the kernel/driver detects a Qlogic ISP1020, but that
the chip on the card is marked ISP 1040. I presume they use the same
driver.

that was originally in the machine, I bump into bug 271444.
The hardware should be good, though, since I used to run RedHat 7.1 on the
Alpha machine, and the Adaptec was in a machine which dualboots between
Win2k and Solaris 9 x86.

Hello,
I've downloaded the Sarge installer yesterday, and it ran flawlessly on my
Digital Personal Worstation 500a, up until the point that it asks me to
remove the CD in order to boot from harddisk.
After the reboot, it keeps searching for DKA0 (the CD-drive, which is now
empty). If I interrupt
