This bug is realy much deeper. Follow this steps:
1) upslug your nslu2 with debian lenny 5.0.2
2) Attach 2 usb keys (in my case with 16GB each one)
3) start the debian-installer in expert mode and try to make a partition
for RAID 1 in each usb key and then pass to configure the this
partition. M

This behaviour is reproducible with less partitions in scheme partition.
I tried with this:
