Hi, just wanna inform that now also our formerly working 32 bit machine has that problem permanently, even after scratching the whole disk with dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda over night before. (We formerly suspected the previous existence of an LVM on the disk caused that behaviour.) The strange thing stays that this and other machines installed fine before and that the bug occurred on some machines earlier (Friday) and others later (Monday afternoon while it worked Monday morning).
So now _all_ of our to-be-installed systems show this behaviour, independently of hardware or installation architecture, independently of the previous disk content. Which is kind of bad, because to workaround this bug now means that we have to go back to manual installation. :-( We also looked through all changed udebs the last two weeks on our mirror (ftp.ch.debian.org) and checked packages.q.d.o as well as their changelog, but none of the changes pointed into this direction. Probably the only relevant package which changed at all during the last weeks is partman-base (changed in Lenny as well as in Sid). HTH.
