I've installed debian etch without debian-installer or any CD
image.
The fact that debian-installer ("base-config") is now execute during
the first installation part before the reboot, and that there is not
anymore "base-config" or similar in the repositor
affects 624343 debian-installer

I note that debian-installer happily creates LVM-over-RAID and
dmcrypt-over-RAID setups (and lvm-over-dmcrypt-over-RAID setups, for
that matter), and provides no warnings to the admin that these RAiD

recente e seu disco de boot tenho umdisco de boot mais não sei se vai funcionar
para instalar o debian potato muito antigo por favor se puder me

I tried to install ' Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 "Sarge" - fsn.hu unofficial i386
Binary-1' from CDROM, but with no success. My CDROM is mounted as IDE on the
hdc-port.
The debian-installer started from the CDROM but asked for additional drivers
ide-scsi, ide-mod and ide-prob

I spent three hours last night trying to help my dad install Debian. Unless
I'm more stupid than I realise, there is a major flaw in the Debian
installation heuristic, so I'm copying this to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
