That was removed from netcfg recently. It's now /sbin/dhclient-script.
Additional suggestion: check the contents of your lease in /var/lib/dhcp3.

Actually I checked the new script and it seems to have the same code in
it. And the dns server only returns a domain name, not a host

The hostname isn't mentioned in the lease file at all.
