It's no hard dependency. The only benefit of that line is to add this
line to ./configure:
$ dpkg-buildflags --export
I'm having my kfreebsd-amd64 vm running the glibc packages from rmh
for some time now. I can't find any major issues right now, however the
ruby hangs are not fixed by this (is that expected?).
Some hangs are fixed, but there are probably other ones :-(
