Wine don't start and freeze the computer. Nothing works, need to reboot. If you 
type in a console: regedit , appear an message saying that has no entry valid

freeze the machine.

Then fix your other software. Wine cannot freeze your system cold on its
own unless you have buggy system software, insufficient hardware (not
enough RAM), or a system misconfiguration (no swap space). If *any*
application could, Wine or not, it would be a huge security hole in the
system. If it's the system software that's at fault, I would guess buggy
graphics drivers or something, probably badly set up ATI crap. In any
case, there's nothing I can do about it.
