Package: icedove
Version: 2.0.0.9-3

Problem is variable when attempting to read new messages in Inbox, but consistent with messages in established folders. Attempting to read by right-clicking and selecting Read from menu produces the same problem, but selecting any Reply or Move option does not. Writing new messages has no impact.

However, during the writing of this bug report, icedove spontaneously crashed twice, and on restart there was new mail in the folders.

The following error message is always generated, the process number
being the only variable:

/usr/lib/icedove/run-mozilla.sh: line 131: 20006 Segmentation fault
 "$prog" ${1+"$@"}

I can generate valgrind and strace outputs if needed.

I am pursuing this through dovecot as well. This sort of thing does not
happen with POP3 service from my ISP, though that is used _very_
infrequently, having become a spam bucket.

The machine in question is Debian lenny/sid, kernel 2.6.23, libc6 version 2.7.10

Version: 2.0.0.12-1

2.0.0.9 upload was pretty regression loaded mostly due to a fix for
s390 we introduced as well as a few upstream regressions. In
particular the s390 can lead to all kind of crashes and corruptions
because of sudden incompatibility of profile components and stuff like
that. If you can still reproduce your issues with the new 2.0.0.12
release, please reopen so we can take a closer look.
