--- Begin Message ---Package: ksnapshot Version: 4:15.08.0-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, *** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? Recent upgrades only allow to run ksnapshot in "american english". * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I've installed a kde translation package (e.g. kde-l10n-fr) My KDE favorite language (in systemsettings) is French. ksnapshot is in english. I cannot change the application language in ksnapshot (Help > switch application language): only american english is available in the list. Adding a fallback language leads to the same list. Note the other installed KDE apps are correctly translated (konqueror, dolphin, korganizer, kmail, kopete, amarok, kmix, etc.), ksnapshot seems to be the only application impacted by this bug. * What was the outcome of this action? The application still run in english. * What outcome did you expect instead? The application should be translated in the appropriate language. dpkg -l | egrep "(ksnapshot|kde-l10n)" | awk '/ii/{print $1,$2,$3}' ii kde-l10n-fr 4:16.04.2-1 ii ksnapshot 4:15.08.0-1 *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (90, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.6.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages ksnapshot depends on: ii kde-runtime 4:16.04.2-1 ii libc6 2.22-11 ii libkdecore5 4:4.14.21-1 ii libkdeui5 4:4.14.21-1 ii libkio5 4:4.14.21-1 ii libkipi11 4:15.08.3-2 ii libqt4-dbus 4:4.8.7+dfsg-8 ii libqtcore4 4:4.8.7+dfsg-8 ii libqtgui4 4:4.8.7+dfsg-8 ii libstdc++6 6.1.1-4 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.3-1 ii libxext6 2:1.3.3-1 ii libxfixes3 1:5.0.1-2+b2 ksnapshot recommends no packages. ksnapshot suggests no packages. -- no debconf information

--- Begin Message ---Dear ksnapshot user, ksnapshot has not been developed upstream for many years already, and Spectacle (available in the kde-spectacle package) replaced it upstream and also in Debian, starting from Debian 9 (Stretch). Since ksnapshot was removed from Debian more than 4 years ago, it is time to close all the open bugs for it. Spectacle, even if it does something similar to what ksnapshot did, is a totally different application started from scratch (and thus not sharing anything code-wise with ksnapshot); because of this, there is no point in moving all the ksnapshot bugs to Spectacle. Most probably you have been using Spectacle already for a few years; we recommend to report bugs and feature requests for it directly to the upstream bug tracker system: https://bugs.kde.org/, product "Spectacle". Thank you again for you report, -- Pino Toscanosignature.asc
