I was able to compile this release with all examples.
Example 1-7 are running well. Example 8 converges because of LasPack.
I did not try to use PETSc.

metalog appears to be incapable of mimicing the file name scheme of
other logging daemons. If a user would install metalog then the file
names in /var/log would suddenly change. Until metalog will be able to
have configurable destination files I'm not confident it's useful for
