OK, I'm pretty sure now this is due to KMS being enabled. If I disable this then I have absolutely no problem hibernating / resuming. Re-enabling is almost guaranteed to make the issue reoccur. Upgrading to 2.6.30-2 made no difference. I am going to re-assign this bug to the kernel. Thanks,
