I confirm this issue, after upgrade to 3.0.STABLE8-3+lenny1 cause of
assertion failed: http.cc:726: !eof and the service frequently restart but
not ever die. The overall performance of squid is dropped.

I changed the path, and got the same crash. Seems that all plugins are
enabled by default. Fixed crashing problem, by just deleting the
offending plugins from /usr/share/gnome-do/plugins.
The banshee crash is an upstream bug in banshee itself.

I have the same problem on two servers with watchdog daemon and with rsyslog
(mark enabled).
The watchdog daemon restarts the server because the file /var/log/messages
has not been changed in time.
