Bram,
In src/fileio.c's readfile function, when the file couldn't be opened,
stat(2) is used to determine why. The problem being that certain error
conditions are checked in a block that is never reached, thus Vim
incorrectly shows a "[New File]" status message and leaves the buffer
writeable.

I notice that there hasn't been any progress on this bug since it was
originally reported back in August. Any chance that this will be fixed,
its a bit ugly to have to hack the initscript to make these changes.

Looking at the INSTALL file, and the README in
/usr/share/doc/rabbitmq-server, it seems like the README contains the
top part of that INSTALL file, but not the rest. The README looks like
this:
Please see http://www.rabbitmq.com/build-server.html for build

Trying to "hgview filename" does not work (all is fine with no args).
To reproduce, try eg

$ hg init
$ echo whatever>somefile
$ hg add somefile

The upgrade to new kaffeine 1.0-branch seems to ignore the settings

Hi,
A patch that should fix this problem has been included in the kernel. Could you
please retest with the latest linux-image-2.6.32-* from unstable?
Please see the following message for details:

There were apparently multiple problems involved here, and the upstream
bug is still open, so I'm not sure whether you want to close this. But
for the record, my problems were completely resolved by 2.6.32 and have
not recurred.
