I also had this bug when upgrading today.
I had this in dmesg:

Possibly some issue with the linker or the elf loader in the newer kernel.
Anyway, I just upgraded the kernel to 4.16 and added the correct arg to
/etc/defaults/grub and it's working

Hi Adrian,
I thought you’d be interested in this bug report... A straightforward partial
fix would be to switch to the https URIs, better still would be to add
certificate validation of some sort, but I think a real fix would involve
format validation and data

Dear Chris,
I have CCed you because you've sponsored past releases of Elpy. To
add to the changelog, I realised that it would ease long-term
maintenance to make 0001-Disable-failing-tests.patch more granular—at
a minimum, a patch for a test known

I couldn't find an active upstream for this one, Debian hasn't shipped
with upstart support since Jessie, Ubuntu switched away from it for

This bug is mainly to prevent migration of the 6.2.0 package.
Upstream is working on removing the ccnet dependency, but right now they've
only done that for the non-python parts of the package.
