I found that the kernel warning disappears when I prevent the modules
*xhci_pci* and *xhci_hcd* from being loaded during boot.
After upgrading to the new fetchmail 6.4.36-1, the problem has been fixed
without any change at all to my .fetchmailrc.
This bug can now be closed.

here's an idea how you can implement it using a hook.
The hook is called for e.g. hooks/partition.DEFAULT
In this hook you concatenate the disk_config files for all classes
that match and write the output to disk_config/$HOSTNAME
Then setup-storage will use this file. IIRC the FAI conf
