About the cowbuilder error, I successfully compiled 2.12.5-6 package with
pdebuild. I don't know exactly what is failing.
When you sent your initial RFS, gnome-desktop 2.26 hadn’t been uploaded
to unstable yet, that’s why succeeded.

Build-Depends: debhelper (= 6), autotools-dev, gcj [!arm !hppa !hurd-i386],
fastjar
Because only arm, hppa, and hurd-i386 are official debian architectures
that lack gcj packages in unstable.
