asused was created for RIPE NCC members who wanted to get an insight in the 
usage of their own resources. Its replacement, the IP Analyser, was built with 
the same goal in mind. However, authenticating became a requirement because 
this tool doesn’t just use public information from the RIPE Database, but also 
uses internal, private information from the RIPE Registry. 

If the use case is “displaying detailed ASN and IP resource information from 
the command line” then I believe you would be much better off using and 
contributing to the RIPEstat Text Service:

asused is completely unsupported by the RIPE NCC and will always lack essential 
modern features such as IPv6 support. I’d RoQA it and focus on RIPEstat instead.
