Update: Problem suddenly (time has passed..) re-appears.
I assume
http://www.cups.org/str.php?L2892 and
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=501219
is relevant here.
Adding a printer with Opera (e.g.) works.

In reply to myself: I did a fresh install of Debian Testing/lenny and
Cups 1.3.8. Additionally I installed cups-driver-gutenprint.
Printing work fine, adding the HP Laserjet 5P via web-interface works
also fine.
I cant reproduce my own problem reported a few days ago.

Hi!
I am running Debian Unstable with Cups 1.3.8-1lenny4. The problem still
persists. I have a totally fine working HP Laserjet 5P (works with
Ubuntu).
With Debian Unstable i cant add this printer, the webinterface just
hangs forever; Mozilla told me: Waiting on $printserver.

Hi there,
David announced the upcoming upload of 1:7.3+4 to the Debian Archive 1
week ago, unfortunately I am not able to find the package for download.
My Sid is unusable for 1 week, that's sad. :(
Please comment for download instructions, I tried with aptitude +

Hello Soren Hansen,
this bug 428252 can be closed now, because my client configuration was
incomplete and the package resolvconf was missing.
After installing it, everything works as expected.
G'day,

The Debian package network-manager-openvpn deletes, on every vpn
