Same here on a clean install of an amd64 system with md0 as /boot and md1
encrypted with lvm on a 4 year old system that ran Lenny without

After installing a rescue system into sda2 I could unlock
md1 in the usual half second or second, start the lvms
and mount them. I chrooted into the mounted root partition
